Temple. Divine and sacred objects that can be found while traveling through the land of Skyrim and many other places in Tamriel.
The shrines of Skyrim, known mainly as places of worship, belong to the Nine Gods as well as to the Deidrical princes. And every sanctuary you find will give you a blessing corresponding to the divinity it represents.
I’m not here to judge whether you want to be blessed by Akatosh or by Mephala – it’s up to you to decide whether you want your soul to ascend to heaven after death or fall into oblivion.
Although some of the blessings you may receive from Deedra are wonderful. Then a few years of your soul burning in hell might be worth it in the end!
Anyway, here’s my ranking of the 14 holy places that can be found in Skyrim and the effect that each of them has if one decides to spend some time praying them.
Don’t forget that my evaluation is representative because blessings serve different purposes. My first choice may be your seventh, depending on your needs.
Also remember that praying to a deity will protect you from all diseases that can affect your body. Yes, the prayer for the Lords of Dedra does the same. They don’t look so bad, do they?
14. Deedric – Temple of Azura
Place: In the Temple of the Stone Crows you will find the Temple of Azura.
Ah, Azura. She is one of Deadric’s gods and causes more conflict among mortals because she is not one of the worst.
We know all about the azure star, but what can we expect when we pray in one of its sanctuaries?
Well, she gives you ten percent so you can resist all kinds of magic.
No matter how dark it seems, I suggest you ask Azura for his blessing when you go into a murderous rage against a gang of magicians.
13. Deadrick – Methaltemple
Place: As in the temple of Azura, you will find the temple of Mefal in the Ravens of the Rock.
If you want to avoid price negotiations, you might want to find the Methal Sanctuary first.
Mefala is one of Deidre’s darkest, but many of her followers say she interferes in human affairs forever.
It is difficult to say whether this is true or not, because sometimes it seems as if what she is doing is only meant to be appreciated.
In any case, the blessing Mefala gives you will allow you to get 10% better prices in the negotiations. The Deadricks discounts, if you like.
12. Deedricus – Temple of Bofia
Place: Yeah, you can find him at the Crow Rock Temple. You got it.
Praying for the Temple of God gives you a fantastic percentage increase in hand damage.
Warriors, rejoice! If you pray to this Prince Deadrick, your fighting skills will improve.
Why don’t you pray for Prince Dedric’s betrayal and deceit?
Are you sure nothing can go wrong after that?
11. Théadric – Temple of the Night
Place: To find this sanctuary, you must go to the rift flag after the darkness has returned.
At night, Prince Deadrick leads the Dark Brotherhood, and you can guess why.
He is the deity of secret and darkness. This means you can count on being close to your heart if you intend to lead the life of a thief or a murderer.
The Temple of Night gives you the opportunity to spot 10% more difficult!
Those of you who are used to praying for camping should think about changing gods and choose the night as your guide when you are on a journey between good and evil.
10. Nine deities – Zenith temple
Place: The game has several Zenitar shrines. Riften, Four Skulls Review and the Temple of Divinities are the main places where you can find them.
Zenitar is a deity who controls zeal and commerce.
He is one of the most revered deities in the land of Tamriel, and many traders tend to place their trust in the hands of Zenitar.
So if you decide to trade in a shop, you might want to get a blessing from this Divine Prime – which makes all game prizes 10% better!
9. Nine deities – Temple of Julian
Place: The easiest access to the Temple of Julianos is in the Temple of the Gods.
The God of Wisdom and Logic wants to give you a 25 point bonus for your collective magic.
Because witches are smart, I guess. It’s worth going if you have time.
8. Nine deities – Temple of Mara
Place: The Temple of Mary and the Temple of the Divine are the two places where sanctuaries for this divine can be found.
Mara is a deity of love and compassion, which means that her blessing increases the effectiveness of all spells in the School of Recuperation by 10%.
What? Did you expect this to improve your flirtation skills?
It’s Skyrim, man. It doesn’t work like that.
If you want to get married, you have to wear Mara’s samulet, not her blessing!
7. Nine gods – Temple of Talos
Place: Talos is praised throughout Skyrim, so his sanctuaries can be found in many cities of the country and in the temple of the deities.
There is nothing more compelling than to be blessed by the divinity of government and war itself.
And with Talos’ blessing, you get 20% off while you wait between shouts.
Never fight unprepared again, because there are sanctuaries all over Skyrimu Talos.
Just pray and polish for the battle and even if you die, you can be assured of a place among the gods.
6. Nine Gods – Kinaret Temple
Place: Visit the Kinaret temple in Witherun if you want to dedicate yourself to the goddess of everything you cannot see.
Kinaret is the goddess of air and nature, but the blessing of her sanctuary gives you 25 stamina points for 8 hours.
Short, beautiful and precise.
5. Nine deities – Priestly Temple
Place: The temple with two pillars is the most emblematic temple of Stendarra in the game, but like the other shrines of the gods, it is also in the Temple of the Gods.
Stendar is a god of mercy.
And his blessing will surely give you a chance to think about whether to save or kill your enemies, as it will allow you to increase your defensive units by 20% in battle.
4. Nine Gods – Temple of Akatosh
Place: Steamcrag Hillock has a really cool Akatosh temple that you might want to visit.
Akatosh is one of the worst deities of the ancient manuscripts, as the book Oblivion makes very clear.
If you want to pray in the glory of the Akatosha and seek the blessings of the Dragon God, prepare for a 10% increase in your magical rebirth.
Dragon god and friend of wizards – who would have believed it?
3. Nine deities – Temple of Dibella
Place: In Markrat there is a temple of Dibella, in case you don’t want to see other deities when you pray for a goddess.
Dibella is the goddess of beauty, and if you pray to her, others will like you and you will receive +10 points for your language skills.
May others be deceived by this illusion and take full advantage of the pet granted by the Goddess of Beauty.
2. Nine deities – Archaic Temple
Place: In every death hall in every city there is an archaeological temple in honour of the dead.
The archaeologist is the deity who decides on life and death on earth.
And as such, the prayer addressed to him will bring you a 25% increase in your health.
Just a few more strokes and you’ll go on for eight hours!
1. Eleven – Temple of Auriel
Place: There are two Auriel Sanctuaries in Skyrim – one in the Dark Fall Cave and the other in the Inner Sanctuary.
There are two Aurelian sanctuaries throughout Skyrim, and they are the only two representations of the Elven pantheon you can find in these countries.
Auriel is the Elvish equivalent of the Akatosh in their faith, and the two sanctuaries of Auriel represent a small minority of the people in the countries that worship him.
By praying in one of the two Auriel Shrines in the game, you can increase the effectiveness of your rocket weapons by 10%. The perfect deity to worship if you’re a light bulb.
